The 8-item rebuild HVAC checklist
1) Go all-electric heat pump (LADWP rebate eligible). 2) Spec MERV 13 + UV-C from day one. 3) Add ERV for filtered fresh-air ventilation. 4) Run line sets in protected chases for future service access.
5) Oversize the electrical for future heat pump water heater + EV. 6) Smart thermostat with remote sensors per zone. 7) Manual J + Manual D properly sized to the new envelope. 8) Document everything for your insurer and any future buyer.
