What the rebate actually covers
LADWP's Consumer Rebate Program offers up to $4,500 back when you replace a gas furnace with a qualifying electric heat pump. The exact amount depends on the system's HSPF2 / SEER2 ratings and whether you bundle with a heat pump water heater.
On top of LADWP, eligible homeowners can stack the federal IRA 25C tax credit (up to $2,000) and, in some cases, TECH Clean California incentives, meaning a $14,000 install can net out closer to $7,500 out-of-pocket.
Who qualifies
You need to be an LADWP electric customer, the work has to be done by a licensed C-20 HVAC contractor, and the equipment must appear on LADWP's qualifying products list. Single-family homes, condos, and most ADUs are all eligible.
How Nice & Cool handles the paperwork
We pre-screen your home for eligibility, spec a qualifying system, and file the rebate paperwork on your behalf. Most clients see their rebate check 6-10 weeks after install.
